Ceramic Core PCB
A Ceramic Core PCB refers to a printed circuit board built around a ceramic substrate (often alumina, aluminum nitride, etc.) rather than a traditional FR-4 or metal core. These boards provide superior thermal conductivity and electrical insulation, making them suitable for high-power, high-temperature, or high-reliability applications. For example, alumina ceramic PCBs can operate at much higher temperatures (up to ~350 °C) and have thermal conductivity in the region of 20-30 W/m•K compared to ~0.3-0.5 W/m•K for FR4.
