If you or someone you know has chronic kidney disease (CKD) and they are not receiving chronic kidney disease treatment properly, your kidneys can become damaged, which causes them to stop working properly. Your body uses your kidneys as a filter to remove waste, toxins, & excess water from your blood. They also take care of the health of red blood cells & bones, among other things. Waste builds up in your blood when there is too much waste, and your kidneys can no longer filter out waste when they start to fail. You start to have problems.
