Using a parachute in GTA 5 is a straightforward but essential skill for safely descending from high places such as buildings, helicopters, or planes. Here’s a comprehensive guide on how to get, equip, and use a parachute effectively across different platforms.

You can acquire a parachute in several ways:
    1. Purchase: After completing the “Minor Turbulence” mission, parachutes become available for purchase at any Ammu-Nation store.
    2. Find on rooftops: Parachutes can be found on top of tall buildings like the Maze Bank Tower or at high points like Mount Chiliad.
    3. Automatic equip: When jumping from airplanes or helicopters, the parachute is automatically equipped.
    4. Cheat codes: You can instantly spawn a parachute using cheat codes specific to your platform (e.g., typing SKYDIVE on PC or dialing 1-999-759-3483 on your in-game phone).

Before jumping, ensure your character has the parachute equipped:
    - PC: Hold down the TAB key to open the weapon wheel, select the parachute with the mouse or arrow keys, then release TAB to equip it.
    - PlayStation: Hold L1 to bring up the weapon wheel, use the right stick to select the parachute, then release L1.
    - Xbox: Hold LB, use the right stick to highlight the parachute, then release LB.
If jumping from a plane or helicopter, the parachute equips automatically.

Once airborne, deploy the parachute by pressing the designated button:
    - PlayStation: Press X
    - Xbox: Press A
    - PC: Press F or left mouse button

After deployment, you can control yourself:
    1. Speed control: Push the left analog stick forward (or press W on PC) to speed up; pull back (or press S on PC) to slow down.
    2. Steering: Use left/right inputs (L1/R1 on PlayStation, LB/RB on Xbox, A/D on PC) for gentle turns; on PC, Q and E enable sharper turns.
    3. Precise landing: Press and hold both L1 and R1 on PlayStation, LB and RB on Xbox, or Shift on PC to slow down for a smooth landing.
    4. Smoke trails: Hold the deploy button (X on PlayStation, A on Xbox, Shift on PC) to leave a colorful smoke trail during descent.
